The Great Queens
Published in Hardcover by Rowman & Littlefield Publishing (10 January, 1992)
Average review score:

Very important work for anyone interested in Irish goddessesThis is a wonderfully thorough and readable scholarly study of women of power in Irish legend and literature: also a fascinating description of how myths are modified to serve the needs of different historical eras. The price of the book is unfortunate. A paperback edition would probably sell well to readers interested in Irish studies or in women's studies.

A Green Place To Die (Guildhouse Games d20)
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Guildhouse Games, LLC (03 July, 2001)
Average review score:

guildhouse games' products rock! This is one fantastic adventure. It is so well detailed, you almost feels as though you are actually in the swamp! It's the perfect adventure for the more mercenary group, especially considering it's so inexpensive. I convinced my DM to buy the next one, The Succubus Bride, and I am really looking forward to it!

Greenwich
Published in Paperback by Arcadia (July, 2002)
Average review score:

A Must-Have Book for Greenwich Residents and Visitors! The pictures of Greenwich of 90-100 years ago are a treat to look at, and the text mixes whimsy, insight, and opinion in a balanced and thoughtful presentation. A great read!

Gregory IV: Fat Boy
Published in Paperback by DC Comics (December, 1993)
Average review score:

Erm?After the first three books which consisted of pure sublime Gregory in a cell with an imaginary rat, Gregory is moved out to live with a family. This is my favourite of the Gregory books as he takes back stage to the family around him. It has towards the end one of the most touching moments I have ever read. Well worth a read, but get at least one of the earlier Gregory books first to understand quite how not on this planet Gregory is.

Grow Deep, Not Just Tall
Published in Paperback by Center for Executive Planning (December, 1984)
Average review score:

Understanding Life is a JourneyThis book is an ageless gift to those of us to search for the deeper meanings in life. In her book Clark tells a story of growth and self awareness through the eyes of a tree. She weaves a pattern between nature and humanity using symbolism and life lessons we have all experienced and need to understand how to "grow deep not just tall". An easy read, it is full of wisdom, hope, healing and learning how to listen to the inner voice that says "You'll never go wrong if you listen deep inside and say what is in your heart". Thank you Karen.

His Own Words, the Way he wanted them! This book of Malcolm X's Speeches was begun while Malcolm was alive with the publisher and the editor that Malcolm selected, and speeches he wanted in the book. This begins the series of books by Malcolm X published by Pathfinder Press in collaboration with his family as more speeches, interviews, and talks by Malcolm X have been discovered. The aim here is to put Malcolm X's words first. Read them for yourself. Find out why Malcolmwas a reasoned, passionate, but uncompromising opponent of US imperialism's wars against oppressed peoples, in Africa, in Vietnam, in the Mid-East. Malcolm can really inspire you about the fights we need.

Hand to Hand
Published in Paperback by Xlibris Corporation (July, 2002)
Average review score:

Accessible, useful Reiki informationHaving about 20 years of study and practice in various healing systems, I recommend this book as a practical and comprehensive tool for the study of Reiki and life energy. It will be of interest to newcomers for the history and basic techniques of Reiki. It will be instructive to practitioners and teachers through the case histories and integration with chakra energetics model. The knowledge presented is in the tradition of the original method which provides energy balancing at all levels-physical,mental,emotional, spiritual. This book illustrates the on-going development of Reiki as a growing complentary modality in the healing arts. John Harvey Gray is one of the original US Masters and has dedicated his life to sharing and teaching Reiki through classes and the establishment of Reiki wellness centers.

Handbook of APL programming
Published in Unknown Binding by Petrocelli Books ()
Average review score:

One of the few books on APL that include *real* programsAPL is a language of one-liners and otherwise short programs. Most texts on APL offer simple one-liners that show what each function and operator do, and not much beyond. Very few books show you how to go beyond the one-liners, and construct really useful programs. Even in those books that do offer useful utilities, the code is often poorly written, and pedagogically inferior: The transition from the one liners to a 60 line program is missing, so the reader never learns how to extend his one-liner skills to a real programs.
The Handbook of APL Programming by Clark Wiedmann is different: The book is filled with wonderful gems of examples, all under 10 lines, but still -- significantly more powerful, complex, useful and interesting than the one-liners used in other books. The drawbacks this book suffers from are that (1) It's out of print, and (2) The examples are *so* interesting and *so* lovely, that there is a real danger of getting caught up in them and not getting any Real Work done. Somehow I think that most readers will look forward to this danger. :)
